Description

Peter Stengade (b. 1947)

Decorative unique stoneware bowl made by the Danish ceramist Peter Stengade.

The bowl has a simple and harmonious hemispherical shape, where the artistic expression is carried by the spectacular glaze. The surface appears in deep shades of cobalt blue, violet, turquoise and black with an almost iridescent sheen that changes character depending on light and angle.

The lively glaze is broken in several places by the light clay body, which deliberately emerges through the surface and creates a striking contrast between the raw and the refined. Along the rim, incised line decoration is seen, which adds structure to the piece and emphasizes the handmade expression.

Signed with stamped monogram on the base.

Perfect condition with minor natural variations and glaze breaks, which appear as an integral part of the artistic execution and the production process.
