Pair of Swedish grey-white Jugend chairs, approx. 1900

A pair of Swedish Jugend chairs, made of painted pine in a grey-white colour with contrasting black feet.
They have a simple and austere design language with semicircular seats, curved backrests and vertical slats. The original striped cushions are included.
The design bears clear similarities to the furniture Alfred Grenander designed for his house in Skåne around 1900, and reflects the Nordic interpretation of the Jugend/Art Nouveau style with a focus on function, lightness and simple aesthetics.

Sweden, approx. 1900.
