Pair of chests of drawers in Gustavian style, Sweden 1840–60

Decorative pair of Swedish chests of drawers in Gustavian style, made of pine in a beautiful light green-blue shade with fine patina, where the warm color of the wood shows through the surface, adding depth and character.

The profiled tops are decorated with an elegant carved dentil frieze, while the three drawers are adorned with refined carved geometric panels with circular medallions.
The corners are fluted and finished at the top with carved rhombus motifs, which underline the classic Gustavian expression of the furniture.

The brass handles add a warm contrast to the cool color scheme and highlight the decorative details of the chests.

Sweden, ca. 1840–1860.
