Ole Wanscher (1903–1985)
Colonial Chair, model PJ 149, designed in 1949 and made at PJ Møbler by master cabinetmaker Poul Jeppesen in the 1950s - 1960s.
With the manufacturer's label under the base.
The chair is made of Rio rosewood with a woven cane seat and original black leather cushions with beautiful, natural patina.
The wood has developed a unique glow and depth – the character that Rio rosewood acquires with age, at its most beautiful.
(It is possible to add extra filling to the seats, as they have become slightly flatter over time.)
An iconic chair – Wanscher's masterpiece – here in original, untouched and particularly well-preserved condition.
CITES certificate included.
