Nils Thorsson (1898–1975)
Decorative four-sided lidded jar made by Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen in the 1950s.
The jar is made of stoneware with stylized bird motifs on each side. The warm reddish-brown glaze is broken by a lively grey-black crystal glaze that flows down over the surface, creating an organic and decorative expression.
The lid is made of patinated bronze with gilded details and shaped like a stylized flower with a bud, creating an elegant contrast to the organic surface of the stoneware.
Signed with Nils Thorsson's monogram and Royal Copenhagen's three waves.
In good condition with normal age-related signs of use.
