GREEN SQUARE COPENHAGEN – OVER 50 ÅRS PASSION FOR ANTIKVITETER OG DESIGN
✓ In stock (1 available)
Elegant pair of armchairs in Danish Empire style from around 1900.
The chairs are made of birch with beautiful grain and fine ebonized details.
The curved armrests end in turned ebonized elements that elegantly connect the armrests and front legs, while the turned, ebonized back piece underlines the light and harmonious expression of the furniture.
The backs are decorated with finely executed marquetry in the form of a classical flower urn on an ebonized background – a decorative motif characteristic of the Empire period's fascination with the formal language of antiquity.
The seats are upholstered in black fabric, which contrasts beautifully with the light birch wood and highlights the elegant lines of the chairs.
In very well-preserved original condition with normal age-related signs of wear and a beautiful, natural patina.
Denmark, approx. 1900.
