GREEN SQUARE COPENHAGEN – OVER 50 ÅRS PASSION FOR ANTIKVITETER OG DESIGN
✓ In stock (1 available)
Elegant canapé sofa made in polished beech from the Louis XVI period. The sofa appears light and harmonious in its proportions, with a beautifully curved, continuous back.
The curved armrests end in fine swan-neck volutes and continue in fluted details that elegantly terminate in carved acanthus decorations. The legs are slightly conical and tapered, connected by cross stretchers, which gives both strength and a refined, architectural expression.
An exceptionally fine and well-proportioned example of Danish furniture art from the late 1700s, presumably made in Copenhagen.
The sofa has been newly upholstered with exclusive textile from Sahco Hesslein in a subdued green tone from the Lavello series, which underlines the piece's classic elegance.
Denmark, approx. 1780–1790
