Bjørn Wiinblad - Large unique ceramic dish

Bjørn Wiinblad (1918–2006)
Rare, large unique ceramic dish, personally hand-decorated by Bjørn Wiinblad – an outstanding example of his more personal and artistically worked ceramics from the period.
The dish is decorated with a classic Wiinblad motif: a stylized portrait of a woman in profile, surrounded by a decorative, graphic flower-like border. The color palette is characteristic of Wiinblad, with strong contrasts in polychrome glazes – deep blue, green and golden shades set against a warm ochre-brown background.

Signed and dated Bjørn Wiinblad 70 (1970) on the back.
Made in Denmark.
