Bjørn Wiinblad - Monumental ceramic figure, 155 cm

Bjørn Wiinblad, 1919 - 2006
Unique monumental female figure by Bjørn Wiinblad, made in 1971. The figure is 155 cm tall and composed of five separate elements in glazed ceramic. Each part is richly decorated with characteristic Wiinblad motifs in a polychrome green, blue and white color palette – an expression of the artist's distinctive fairytale-like and decorative style.
She has dark blue, twisted braids, which she holds up elegantly with her hands, and wears a tall, flower-adorned hat with an opening, suitable for use as a vase or flower holder.
The figure is signed and is considered a unique piece, as – although produced in several molds – it is individually hand-decorated by Wiinblad himself.
In beautiful, original condition.

Signed Bjørn Wiinblad 71 (1971).
