Anni and Bent Knudsen are one of Denmark's most renowned craft and designer couples, known especially for their elegant silver and gold jewellery made from 1956, when they established their own workshop in Kolding.
Bent Knudsen was trained as a silversmith and worked, among other places, at Hans Hansen Sølvsmedie before the couple started their own business. The jewellery is especially known for clean lines, geometric forms and the use of gemstones such as amethyst, malachite and hematite, and counts among the heavyweights of Danish jewellery art.
Anni and Bent Knudsen are today regarded as among the important figures of Danish modernist jewellery art, and their works, which are also found in both the Danish and Swedish royal houses, are sought after by collectors of Danish design.
